Our guests, Cheryl Delk-Le Good, Executive Director of EnglishUSA, and Dr. Adil Bentahar, Associate Professor at the University of Delaware (UD), explore the world of English language learning for international students.

Executive Director

Cheryl Delk-Le Good has been active in international education for more than 30 years and has served as EnglishUSA’s Executive Director since 2015. Cheryl's leadership extends beyond her current role, having served on the boards of EnglishUSA and UCIEP, as well as the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation. Her expertise in International Enrollment Management has been recognized by NAFSA, culminating in the 2022 Award for Outstanding Contributions to the field.

For 15 years, Cheryl led the Intensive English Program at Georgia State University as both director and faculty member. Her academic journey includes teaching positions at Western Michigan and Michigan State Universities, authoring two ESL textbooks, and conducting numerous program and curriculum reviews both nationally and internationally. Cheryl's educational background reflects her passion for languages and teaching. She holds a BA from Illinois Wesleyan University and dual MA degrees in French and TESOL from Michigan State University.

Adil Bentahar

Dr. Adil Bentahar is an Associate Professor at the English Language Institute and the School of Education at the University of Delaware. Adil usually teaches second language (L2) reading-writing courses, methods courses, and teacher training courses benefiting EFL teachers from overseas. He also advises pre- and in-service teachers interested in supporting multilingual learners of English in K-16 settings.
Dr. Bentahar’s research areas include L2 extensive reading, teacher professional development, and multilingual international student experiences. Currently, Adil is investigating the impact of TV viewing and Internet browsing on the reading habits of Moroccan EFL teachers.
